Comprehensive Eye Exams

Regardless of your physical health or age, it’s important to have regular eye exams at Dr. Ratty’s office.

During your eye exam, our eye doctors will determine your required prescription for your contact lenses or eyeglasses, and we will also check your eyes for common eye diseases and assess how your eyes work together as a team to evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health. We will perform several tests that range from simple ones, such as reading an eye chart, to more advanced tests that will determine the overall health of your eye tissue.

The American Optometric Association recommends you get an annual eye exam for any adult who wears contacts or eyeglasses. If you usually don’t need vision corrections, you will still need regular eye exams every two years, and this also depends on your rate of visual change and overall health.

Our Doctors will often recommend more frequent examinations for adults with other health conditions, such as: high blood pressure, diabetes, and other disorders. Many diseases can have a significant impact on your vision and overall health of your eye.
